My Review Ok this is my first not so great book review I think so am finding this review a little difficult to write because I don't want to tear the author apart. Most of the book was good. It was slow for me to get into it but after a bit I did. The main characters are Travis and his wife Emma Lee and then Cody who enters their life kind of unexpectedly . The story is filled with a lot regarding forgiveness and having second chances. The characters were all nice and likeable . Now as for what I didn't care for and it kind of threw me for a bit when I read it cause I had to go back and read it and still wasn't sure until a little further but there was an incident with their goats and some coyotes coming on their land near the goats ....so at first that was all ok. Then it started talking about a shepherd and I was like wait I thought these were coyotes but is the shepherd a person with them because it was like his thinking . As I read further I guess this shepherd was like a coyote/dog that was the leader of the pack . But I found this writing of this in these scenes very odd. So overall not a completely bad book . Maybe just overall not my style. So you may still want to give it a chance. Disclaimer: I was given a complimentary copy of this book but all thoughts and opinions are my own. Hello dear mother of an autistic child . . . so is my daughter, so I can know at least some of your issues. Our Atticus turned six in November. Thank you for participating in my celebrate Lit Blog Tour for SON OF PROMISE. You did finally get it about the bad dog :) And yes, I did get into the bad dog's head :) Sorry that part threw you. I know it probably was unexpected, but I love throwing in unexpected side stories. We actually had 80 goats and a Great Pyrenees guardian and a pack of wild dogs and coyotes. that has got to be difficult knowing your wife of 10 years was not able to carry a baby to full term, and you have a son. What an emotional roller coaster the whole situation must be. We all have grace and forgiveness from God, so how much more should be give these gifts to everyone else no matter how hard it is for us?
